The latest addition to the AOD fleet was launched in time for the second river race of the season. The brand new boat, No.25 Puffin was built by John Williams. Having completed the Lyme Regis boat building course, John decided to build an AOD for himself and has done a superb job. Puffin’s first race provided a very creditable performance (much to John’s relief) – coming in second over the line! Quite an achievement all round…
No.24 Maflingo, has changed hands over the winter, local Axmouth sailor Graham Sharland has purchased the boat from Graham Mather. It’s good to see that the boat remains in the village, and for the sake of continuity her name remains unchanged. Graham was also sailing an AOD for the first time last Wednesday – just piped by Puffin. It looks like we’ll have some interesting competition this season!
